Following a disappointing exit at the 2018 World Cup, the Japanese Football Association initiates a controversial and highly rigorous training program to create the ultimate, egoistic striker who can lead Japan to global glory. Three hundred high school forwards from across the nation are locked inside a prison-like facility known as Blue Lock. Driven by the mysterious coach Jinpachi Ego, young striker Yoichi Isagi—who blames his own selfless play for his team's past failure—must learn to discard conventional teamwork, summon his inner "monster", and out-compete his rivals to survive this high-stakes selection.
