Neon Genesis Evangelion

In the year 2015, fifteen years after a global cataclysm known as the Second Impact, Tokyo-3 is repeatedly attacked by monstrous, destructive beings called Angels. The special UN agency NERV, directed by the cold and distant Gendo Ikari, develops giant biomechanical humanoid weapons named Evangelions to combat them. Gendo's estranged fourteen-year-old son, Shinji Ikari, is suddenly summoned and pressured into piloting Evangelion Unit-01. Alongside fellow young pilots Rei Ayanami and Asuka Langley Soryu, Shinji must defend humanity while struggling with severe emotional isolation, trauma, and deep existential anxiety.
