Set in 1999, against the backdrop of widespread Y2K doomsday panic, The WONDERfools follows a quirky, motley crew of socially awkward neighborhood misfits in Haeseong City who unexpectedly wake up with defective, unstable superpowers after a mysterious incident. Led by the spirited Eun Chae-ni and the socially awkward Seoul civil servant Lee Woon-jung, this group of reluctant, goofball heroes must work together, overcome their limitations, and use their chaotic abilities to save their town from superpowered villains known as 'Wunderkinders'.
