During a period of exceptionally rainy weather in Tokyo, runaway high schooler Hodaka Morishima struggles to support himself and eventually lands a writing job at a small occult magazine. His life changes when he befriends Hina Amano, an orphaned girl who possesses a mysterious, supernatural ability to clear the skies and bring out the sunshine through prayer. The two decide to use her power to help those in need across the flooded city, but they soon learn that altering the laws of nature carries a heavy, personal toll.
